What I've Learned from my Classmates

Tricks I've Learned from my Classmates      In this post I'll be learning some new tricks from my classmate's tutorial with their step by step.      First tutorial: Crayola marker watercolor  https://ddartjourney.blogspot.com/2025/10/time-for-my-tutorial.html      The tutorial provided a step-by-step guide on how to use Crayola markers to create a watercolor drawing. I decided to make a landscape scene with a grassy field, mountains, a tree, and a lake. I had no idea that you could use markers to create a watercolor effect! I started by placing colors on the page where I wanted everything and then blended them together with water. Afterward, I added more details with the markers, blended them again. I attempted to create a reflection of the sun on the water. It was such a fun project to try and learn from. I will definitely use this technique if I ever need a watercolor effect.      Second tutorial: Digital Art Photography...

What I've Learned so far with Digital Art

My Most successful Digital Art Piece      During my senior year, I decided to take an AP art class. Throughout the school year, you work independently on your portfolio to submit to the dashboard for grading. I was mainly focused on traditional art, but I struggled with getting the colors right, and my pieces felt very dull. Halfway through the semester, I decided to teach myself digital art.      While teaching myself, I learned to use layers properly and experimented with the settings in IbisPaint X. During the creation of my artwork, I struggled to create a smooth blend of colors. I tried using the smudge tool provided, but it often ruined my colors or their placement. What worked much better for me was the blur tool. By stacking colors on top of each other and blending them with the blur tool, I was able to create smooth transitions, as shown in the video.     So, I start by applying the main color on the first layer. Then, I add the sha...

Learning How to Make a Stamp

My Prosses of Creating a Stamp      For the stamps, I wanted to create a magical forest theme, so I started sketching my ideas. I planned to design a frog with a wizard hat and a mushroom. This theme was inspired by my love for playing Dungeons & Dragons, my magical forest campaign, and a recent trip to a renaissance fair. However, when I was working on the frog, I changed my mind and left it as a plain frog, which I now regret because it would have been better with the hat.      After finishing my sketch, I moved on to the next step in the video, which was transferring it onto the carving block. Instead of using parchment paper as suggested, I used my sketchbook with the drawing I made for my stamp. I placed the paper onto the carving block and used the bottom side of the carving tool to apply pressure, allowing the graphite to transfer onto the block. It worked out pretty well, though the image was a bit blurry. So, I went over it with a Sharpie...
